How it works

It records quietly
Every 10 seconds for the last 24 hours, every minute for 7 days, and every 5 minutes for 30 days.

Choose 12 hours, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, then drag across the timeline.

Pin a moment
Drop a pin and the app list and all metrics show that moment. An event rail marks alerts, sleep and wake, thermal events, and app launches and quits.

What you get
Small and local
30 days of history for 80 apps takes about 94 MB in one SQLite file in Application Support.
Per-app history
CPU, memory, energy and disk for each app. Network and GPU are recorded as system totals.
Alerts use the same history
Misbehaviour alerts watch for CPU ≥ 70% for 10 minutes, memory growth ≥ 1 GB an hour, disk writes ≥ 1 GB in 10 minutes and network ≥ 500 MB in 10 minutes.

How much disk space does history use?
About 94 MB for 30 days of history with 80 apps on our test Mac. Older data is kept at lower resolution so the file stays small.
How far back can I go?
30 days. The last 24 hours are kept at 10-second resolution, the last 7 days at 1 minute, and the last 30 days at 5 minutes.
Does history leave my Mac?
No. It lives in a local database in Application Support and is never uploaded.
Can I see a single app's history?
Yes, for CPU, memory, energy and disk. Network and GPU history are system totals, not per app.
